Incredible, Invisible Surround Sound!

When I needed to create a striking 5.1 surround sound system that would impress a husband, wife, and their decorator, I chose the Stealth Acoustics line. With the AX3 for fronts (left, right, and center) and the FX8’s for the rears (left and right surround), I ended up with a room with amazing sound and stunning aesthetics. In keeping with the "no equipment" theme, all of the electronics (except for the monitor) were hidden in the half-walls. Electronics and lighting are all controlled via a radio-frequency remote control system, so nothing needs to be seen. The fronts and center, as seen in the pictures, flank the plasma. The rears are in the ceiling, to the immediate left and right of the mini-can lights.

As clean and devoid of A/V gear as the room appears, the sound quality is simply incredible. To think that you can have quality sound with 100% invisible speakers is simply stunning. Upon hearing the system, the listener's initial reaction is to head straight for the wall, looking for some visual "clue" as to their location. Since there are none, they use their ears to discover the actual origination of the sound. My favorite part is watching their facial reaction -- usually slow head shaking, or the open-mouthed stare.

Finally, both sides can be happy. Stealth Acoustics allows us to have it all -- powerful surround sound without overpowering a room with speaker boxes or in-wall grilles.
