A Successful Home & Garden Show with
Stealth Acoustics Invisible Loudspeakers

This year we presented a typical living/family room containing a 5.1 surround system where all that was seen was a 42" LCD flat screen TV flanked by a light switch on the right, a touch screen on the left and a pair of light sconces, one on each side. 

Our goal was to demonstrate that accurate and realistic sound can be reproduced without attracting any, that is ANY, attention to boxes and wires. It was quite amusing to challenge our audience by asking them to identify "Where is the sound coming from?". In fact, several of the answers received were very surprising. Some folks pointed to the light sconces or the light switches while others pointed to the room thermostat. The electronics to drive the speakers was installed in an ordinary entertainment cabinet which could be situated within the room or in any closet. Challenge aside, we were able to establish that A/V entertainment rooms can be aesthetically beautiful and pleasant.

The Installation

The first order of business was building wall frames and stuffing them with the appropriate electrical switches/dimmers, audio and networking jacks. That's me (Marcel) in the blue sweatshirt at left.

Once the frames were made and stuffed, we installed the speakers into the frames. This is what the Stealth Acoustics surround speakers look like from the front (below right photo).      

After testing out the electronics, the speakers were loaded onto the truck and driven down to the exhibit hall. It was COLD that morning! Setup in the hall went smoothly. The crew was out in force. We had Al from last year, Al from this year, Bob (one of my best customers), Serge and Tino. Finally the exhibit is up delivering 1080p blue ray media to the 42" screen with full surround 5.1 sound.

The show attendees came out in force. Their facial expressions tell all that is needed to be said!
