Patio Theater Case Study: Sanford, FL

Patio Theater in Sanford, FL

Overview

Installation of a massive motorized 155″ P3 LED display Stealth Patio Theater system in a standard weatherized enclosure with IP-68, full-range 3.1 Stealth Invisible sound integrated directly into the front paneling of the display enclosure.

Project Goals

This client lives large and wanted his outdoor entertainment experience to match his lifestyle. Aesthetics were also a driver to maintain minimal visual impact in the pool area when the screen was retracted into its enclosure. At 155″ in size, the partially recessed, pool side, ultra-large-scale Patio Theater system provides the optimum viewing angle and daytime viewable brightness in a most spectacular fashion.

Process

The designer for the project was very involved in the project to ensure that the Patio Theater was architecturally and aesthetically integrated into the landscape. A marble curb acts as a transition between the marble pool deck and the custom-finished screen enclosure. To allow for aesthetic control, the designer elected to receive the system with only its multi-coat spar varnish weather sealant and exterior primer applied. The final enclosure finishing was performed to designer specifications on site by the project painter.

A poured concrete slab placed within a semi-recessed vault provided a proper mounting surface and rear access to the screen components. The fully-constructed, tested and pre-optimized Patio Theater screen and cabinet were then shipped to the site and lifted into place using a crane.

“We were able to take advantage of the lower grade elevation of the lawn to achieve full rear access to the cabinet without the need for an oversized vault.” – Installation Team
